The Real Group
스웨덴의 재즈 아카펠라 그룹인 리얼 그룹(The Real Group)은
스웨덴 뿐 아니라 유럽 등지에서 두터운 팬층을 확보하고 있는
보컬그룹이다. 87년 데뷔 앨범 [The Real Group]를 발표하고
무려 17년 동안 활발한 활동을 통해 바비 맥퍼린(Bobby Mcferrin),
조지 마틴(George Martin), 바바라 헨드릭스(Babara hendricks),
투스 띨레망스(Toots Thielemans) 등 전설적인 아티스트와의
협연을 비롯해 1,000회 이상의 라이브 공연을 하였다.
많은 이들이 리얼 그룹을 사랑하는 데는 이유가 있다.
리얼 그룹은 보통 그룹과는 다르게 멤버들 각자가 직접 곡을
만들고 개성 넘치는 가사를 붙여 노래할 뿐 아니라 멤버들이
돌아가며 리드 보컬을 맡아 각자의 개성을 마음껏 펼친다.
답답한 일상의 청정제 같은 그들의 음악을 접한다는 것은
가슴 설레이는 일이 아닐 수 없다.
